Description

It covers a diverse range of topics, including the history and practice of archaeology, climate and environmental settings, hunter-gatherer activities, the beginning of agriculture, domestication of animals and plants, subsistence practices, craft production and usage, social inequality, urbanisation, the formation of early states, developmental trajectories of prehistoric settlements and the origin of “Chinese civilisation”. The course explores these topics and debates in chronological order, accompanied by the presentation of archaeological evidence and case studies.
